ALKWAR is a Brazilian software house that sells the capacity of a senior engineering team to companies in the US, Europe and Latin America.
Muhammad ibn Musa al-Khwarizmi was a ninth-century Persian mathematician who worked at the House of Wisdom in Baghdad. Latin translations of his work rendered his name as Algoritmi, the origin of the word “algorithm”. His book al-Jabr gave us “algebra”.
ALKWAR (pronounced al-KWAR) takes its name from him. We build software the way he solved equations: step by step, with every step written down.
ALKWAR is operated by WGB Soluções de Software Ltda., a company registered in Brazil. Contracts, invoices and NDAs are signed by the company, and every engineer is part of its team.
Santa Rita do Sapucaí, in the south of Minas Gerais, is known as the Vale da Eletrônica. The town is home to ETE FMC, founded in 1959 as the first electronics technical school in Latin America, and to Inatel, the National Institute of Telecommunications.
Technology companies, engineering schools and startups share a few streets. It is a small town with a long engineering tradition, and the base of our team.
